2019

Team Teaching and Learning Award - Winner (2019). Emma Ormerod, Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow led on the development of a Simulation Clinic along with speech and language therapists from local NHS therapists.
I was involved in the development and implementation of the Simulated Clinics, including providing a video and clinical data for a paediatric case.
The team was recognised at the first Teaching and Learning Awards (17/09/2019).

2018

Volunteer of the Year (Staff 1st Place)(2018). University of Manchester Making a Difference, Volunteer of the Year Award - staff Category. Nominated by students for Voice & Communication Groups for Trans and Non-Binary people, involving student volunteers, in partnership with the LGBT Foundation. 1st May 2018.

Sternberg Award for Clinical Innovation (Joint Winner) (2012). Awarded by The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, 11th September 2012. Joint winner with Dr Cristina McKean, Senior Lecturer, Newcastle University and Dr Carol Stow, Consultant Speech and Language Therapist, NHS for the Building Early Sentences Therapy (BEST) language intervention package for children with severe expressive language disorder.

2006

Rochdale Primary Care Trust (2006). Gold Winners: Speech and Language Therapists for their Community Speech and Language Therapy Clinics. As the Team Lead for 12 Community Clinics I undertook a service re-design, introducing group therapy, standardised letters and forms and reducing waiting times from over 2 years to under 18 weeks.
